Match Preview

After 21 games of league rugby it all comes down to the final game to see who will have a shot at Midland 1 rugby next season. Kenilworth, KC's and Old Laurentians have been this years stand out teams in Midlands 2 (West) South but the simple fact is 3 does not go in to 2 so Old Laurentians and KC's will have one last match to decide who will have home advantage in the Midlands Two Play Off.

Old Laurentians currently hold the advantage over KC's despite being level on points as games won dictates who places 2nd or 3rd of which OL's have 1 more than KC's. However they must travel to league champions Kenilworth and attempt to be the first team to win at Glasshouse Lane this season and gain a 4 try bonus point to seal their promotion place. Meanwhile KC's host Old Coventrians who have had a tough year and currently occupy the second relegation spot, but we must ensure the high standards are maintained as mathematically they could still escape relegation and will fight to the last.

Whatever the result our members and supporters will be treated to the usual high tempo, open running rugby that has seen KC's amass 917 points in all competitions. With 2, possibly 3 games to go could we see the 1000 points reached for a new a club record??

This Saturday is also our annual ladies day so we hope the weather, rugby and hospitality all combines to keep this memorable season alive for another week to see if we can reach the highest level of league rugby next season in our Golden Jubilee year.
