This Saturday the First XV entertain Spartans (Midlands) RFC a club that lies just above KCs in the League in 5th place with 44 points, while we are 8th, with 36 points.
Spartans began their season with a narrow away win at Stafford, 15-18, followed by a home defeat at the hands of current League leaders Sutton Coldfield – 0-48. This was followed by two victories – at Newport ( Salop) 13-21 and at home against KCs 23-5. In October Spartans lost all three matches they played:- 30-25 at Willenhall, 28-29 to Veseyans at home ( that must have hurt!) and away at Newcastle 34-12. In November they lost to Burntwood 15-20, but won at Telford 16-37 then won 33-29 against Shrewsbury.
December started with a heavy defeat at Sutton Coldfield 76-12 followed by a home defeat to Newport 24-31. Results took an upward turn in January with three wins:- 13-15 at Veseyans, 0-32 at Wolverhampton and a home win over Newcastle 41-28.
So Spartans have played 15, won 8 and lost 7, while KCs have played 16, won 7 and lost 9. We look forward to a good game of rugby today, followed by a few pints together in the clubhouse afterwards.
Come on, you Kidderminster boys!
