Kidderminster Development XV have come undone against Bridgnorth in a commanding display by the visitors, smashing seven try’s past Carolians at Marlpool.

In the opening stages, Kidderminster were holding their own with good pressure and intensity in the rucks and the big hits were being made.

But, it took only ten minutes for the away side to open the scoring and they bagged their second not long after, with some poor mis-tackles from the Carolians defence, giving Bridgnorth a 12-0 lead after a quarter of the match played.

Carolians responded well through captain James Whitehouse creating the initiative in attack towards the opposition half, but was unlucky with not enough support.

No.8 Ryan Harris was causing problems for the Bridgnorth line making towering runs along with Ryan Wainwright who was hard to take down once he got going.

However, on the half hour mark Bridgnorth scored their third try after fine play from their scrum half to weave through KC’s defensive line and fed a lovely inside pass into the supporting player who surged through to score under the posts, and they scored another right before the interval.

Into the second half, Kidderminster were on the front foot with Ryan Wainwright making some beastly tackles and was a one-man army at times.

KC’s were pushing forward in Bridgnorth’s half but were left vulnerable on the counter attack after a turnover, and the visitors surged their way downfield resulting in them scoring on the far right on the overlap.

Carolians pulled a try back on the 50th minute with their best move of the match after some terrific link up play from Ryan Wainwright and Rhys Farlow pushing forward into Bridgnorth’s 5 metre line.

The move ended with fly-half Sam Taylor finding the run of Grant Jones on the far left and the Taylor also made his kick which swerved towards the inside left post.

On the hour, KC’s were producing attack after attack and were showing hard intensity in the rucks with the forwards also putting in a big graft in the line-outs and scrums.

But, Carolians ran out of steam in the remaining ten minutes as Bridgnorth scored another two try’s to seal a 43-7 away victory at Marlpool Lane.
